Czeslaw Michniewicz is the new coach of the Polish football national team. The 52-year-old signed a contract by the end of the year with an extension option, as the National Association PZPN announced in Warsaw.
Michniewicz’s successor to the former Portuguese football star Paulo Sousa, who recently surprisingly changed as a coach to Brazilian Club Flamengo Rio de Janeiro.
Michniewicz have the right qualities and experiences to lead the team to the struggle to participate in this year’s World Championship in Qatar, said Association President Cezary Kulesza. In March, Poland goes to the playoff round for the last World Cup tickets.
By last October, Michniewicz coach of the capital city of Legia Warsaw was with which he became Polish champion in the 2020/21 season. From 2017 to 2020 he was coach of the U21 national team. Earlier coach stations of the former goalkeeper were, among other things, Lech Poznan and Zaglebie Lubin.
